CARN To Launch Fogle Range In January

CARN, the British boot brand with the keyboard short-cut we can't find, is set to launch its new Ben Fogle range of outdoor footwear at The Outdoor Show which takes place at London's Excel Centre on 13-16 January, 2011.

The range – full name 'Inspired by Ben Fogle' – will be on the floppy-haired adventurer's own stand at the show and consists of two styles; a trail-walking shoe and a walking boot.

The shoe is called the INCA Trail and the boot the KAIETEUR eV Mid, which looks like a misspelling, but seriously, it isn't, and both use CARN's range of footwear technologies and incorporate, says the company, environmentally friendly fabrics including TREK-DRY, POLIYOU and Cocona Natural Technology. Both models will be available in men's and women's versions.

Intriguingly, the INCA Trail has uppers made from an organic water-repellent cotton canvas, with heel and toe protection from water-repellent suede leather, it also has a bamboo-based wicking inner and an advanced sole unit with mix of EVA and PORON cushioning.

The KAIETEUR eV Mid is billed as CARN's 'most technical product to date' with a high-tec stiffened mid-sole unit and uppers made from the same organic cotton canvas, but in this case teamed with a waterproof and breathable eVent liner.

Ben's stand is number OU719 and the range will be there throughout the show as Fogle gives a range of talks and briefings. It is, of course, easy to mock him as a television wannabe, and a man who might have been named after an obscure Corbett, but he has rowed the Atlantic in 49 days and crossed the Antarctic on foot to reach the South Pole.

The 'Inspired by Ben Fogle' range will be in the shops from March 2011 with the show priced at £90 and the mid from £125.
