Outdoor Adventures in the US

Boise could be considered to be the most remote urban area in the United States. Being geographically remote does not mean the city is rural. The City of Trees is an exciting city with unique attractions, spacious parks, a riverfront Greenbelt, a vibrant downtown, and excellent air service in the heart of a recreation and scenic wonderland.

Vacations are meant to provide escapes while still providing conveniences to stay connected and within proximity of shopping, dining, transportation, lodging and sightseeing.

Outdoor adventures, including urban raft trips, hot air ballooning, golf, hiking, hunting, fishing and more are all easily accessible in Boise, for all ages and skill levels. Outfitters offer two- to three-hour float trips on sections of the Boise River between Barber Park to Ann Morrison Park near downtown. The gentle float introduces guests to the history, geology, wildlife and riparian community along the river - the wilderness in Boise's backyard. Idaho has more miles of whitewater than any other state in the lower 48 with opportunity for adventure on nearly every mile. The Payette, the Snake and the Salmon River at Riggins are all readily accessible from Boise. Idaho's outfitters and guides offer trail rides and backpacking trips into just about every corner of the state. They are often combined with fishing, river running, hunting or trips to guest ranches.

The Boise River Greenbelt stretches 25 miles along the Boise River connecting city parks and providing

a place for family or individual biking, rollerblading, jogging or a leisurely stroll. The Greenbelt path and parks are all wheelchair accessible.
