Take Your Marks And Get Set!
TIME: 11:06AM Tuesday March 16,2010

Final preparations are in full effect ahead of this week's Abu Dhabi International Triathlon, which takes in a host of the UAE capital's landmarks including the iconic Sheikh Zayed Mosque and the Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

If you're looking forward to some race preparation in the days leading up to the event, here are some pointers:

Swim

Abu Dhabi's sweeping Corniche is famed for its crystal blue azure waters and a swim session takes place at the signature Emirates Palace Hotel, on Friday morning and is open to all. This will give competitors their first chance to try out the swim course, all under the supervision of the safety team. The sea water here has a higher salt content than you may be used to, so it's worth a dip to find out.

For more seaside action, you can find the best public beaches at the Corniche or on the far side of the Emirates Palace.

Bike

If you decide to cycle on the streets, we recommend you exercise caution and only cycle in dedicated Park areas, or in your hotel gym.

Run

The best place to run in Abu Dhabi is at one of the city's lush, green parks, where you can train away from the hustle and bustle.
