FIS Stuff Roberto Moresi shares his thoughts on World Snow Day
TIME: 11:17AM Friday December 09,2011

Name: Roby Moressi

Position: FIS Snowboard Assistant Race Director

Where will you be on World Snow Day?
I will be in Veysonnaz for the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup event.

Are you going to do something special to celebrate?
Running the World Cup event is already going to be something special but having the chance to interact with the local children and celebrate something which has put a smile on my face for many years will make the day extra special. However if I had the time off I would most likely be with my wife and children on the snow in Italy.

Your thoughts on World Snow Day and what it stands for?
It’s creating a lot of talk and buzz but the great thing is that it is actually happening. The fact that it is a day for people especially children and their families to explore, enjoy and experience the snow could not sound any better. Better yet I hope that all the children who participate this year and in the years to come go on to enjoy the snow throughout their lives and pass it on to their children.

What is your vision for World Snow Day?
I haven’t had much time to think about it actually, but the way I see it is that it is a great tool to connect the practical side of the sport with public institutions and the industry to create community projects. Consequently this will hopefully bring back a lot more people on to the snow and into this fantastic environment.
