Jammu, Feb 15: The Tawi Trekkers Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday honoured the only female mountaineer of the state, Tsering Ladol, who has scaled the Everest, the highest peak on the earth.
 She was presented a shawl and Rs 5000 by president of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Sumant Singh Jamwal in the presence of prominent members of the club.
 Also present, Factory manager Insectisides (India) Limited, OP Karnani also presented an amount of Rs 1100 to the distinguished mountaineer as a token of encouragement.
 In his welcome address, general secretary of the Club, Ram Khajuria highlighted the achievements of Tsering Ladol.
 He apprised the distinguished gathering that Ladol was just 18 years of age when she summited the Everest from the difficult Tibet side, in 2005.
 She has also climbed Kamet peak, situated at a height of 25447ft, he added. Prominent among others present was OP Padha, Rahul Sharma and Sumit Sharma.
