PHOENIX - Authorities say a visitor to the Valley suffered a serious leg injury while hiking Camelback Mountain Thursday.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Scott Walker said that just after noon crews responded to a call of a woman with an ankle injury almost at the top of the mountain in Echo Canyon.
When rescuers got to the 69-year-old woman they found she had a significant fracture to her lower leg.
Walker said the woman was air-lifted off the trail and taken to a Scottsdale hospital.
Walker said the woman and her husband are visiting from Germany.
